PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • All Championship and WTC Application forms & Entry forms will be available from the SADTA Stage Branch office.
  • Dancers wanting to enter WTC sections must register one month before closing date of competition.  No late registrations will be accepted.
  • Dancers wanting to enter WTC sections solo/duo sections must be of championship status.
  • All dancers entering into WTC must pay a registration fee of R130-00 per annum.
  • A minimum participation in 2 Qualifying events is compulsory for selection of the IDO World Championships in the discipline of Performing Arts.
  • A minimum participation in 3 Qualifying events is compulsory for selection of the IDO World Championships in the discipline of Hip Hop.
  • These qualifying world trials are open to Amateurs of Championship status & Professional dancers.
  • All teachers wanting to enter their pupils into WTC sections must be in possession of a WTC rulebook and have attended a WTC meeting in the current year.

COMPETITIONS AND WORLD TRIAL CIRCUIT -  SADTA (STAGE BRANCH) DISCIPLINES
These sections form the basis of the selection process in place to elect the South African dancers who will represent their country at the annual IDO (International Dance Organization) World Championships.  The WTC Rule book stipulates the selection criteria governing South African Trials.
The IDO is the controlling body of the World Championships in the relevant disciplines.  The competitions listed below serve as heats within the spectrum of the World Trial Circuit sections for 2009.

Wits downstairs Theatre - OutsideThe Performing Arts Administration is a service organization within the university, providing support for the mounting of productions, and aspects of technical teaching and practical training for both the Schools of Dramatic Art and Music.

Inside Wits Downstairs TheatreIt handles the day to day running of the Wits Theatre complex and Great Hall and while the university community have first call on the facilities, it also caters for a large, diverse collection of professional companies, dance studios and schools.
